Here's what you can do to improve emotional intelligence

Here's what you can do to improve emotional intelligence:-

1/ Become aware of your emotions: how you feel about yourself, someone or something. The purpose of questioning is to learn to identify and label your emotion and also to change your focus of attention.

2/ Be more observant: develop curiosity and become observant. Look at your behavior. How do you react or respond to things and people. How are other people reacting in the same situation?
Look at the similarities and the differences. Notice the motivation. See which produce a better result or outcome and which ones cause confusion and misunderstandings.

3/ Look at your circle of friends: You will attract people who have the right and positive attitude and attributes if you are emotionally competent and stable. When your emotional intelligence level is high, people enjoy your company and will listen. You will have the ability to positively influence them and they will help you reach your goal.

4/ Improve your communication skills: Work on improving your nonverbal communication and to understand other people's body language and nonverbal cues. Your posture, inner chatters and verbal reinforcements affect how you feel and behave toward yourself. Words affect your emotions and so are your actions. So the next time when you feel the anger rising, breathe deeply. When you feel sad and lonely, take a brisk walk. Interrupt your negative emotions regularly to reprogram your mind and set new thinking patterns.

5/ Remember: Being emotionally intelligent means having the ability to understand your emotions and that of others and using this knowledge to relate better with people and succeed in life. The lack of it causes you not to accept yourself and other people and makes you want to rebel, more often subconsciously.
